The Best Way to Build Relationships, According to Your Zodiac Sign

By: Natalie

*Editor’s Note: I think there must be something in the water. Mercury is back in retrograde, we had a full moon last night, and my dog is running around my apartment like a chicken with his head cut off. Because of that, I especially want to thank Natalie for helping astrology make sense to those of us not in the know!*

Astrology is a guiding force in my life. It allows me to be more in tune with my feelings, my actions, and my spirituality. I use it as a tool for mindfulness and personal reflection, which ultimately makes it easier for me to communicate my wants and needs with others, as well as guiding me to a deeper understanding of myself.

Relationships make up our entire lives. Everyday we interact with friends, co-workers, family members, and strangers. Astrology is just another tool to be more aware of how we interact with others. Below, I have listed each sign and a few tips for building relationships. So read your sign and then read the signs of those you love to help you build positive relationships with those around you!

The Best Way to Build Relationships, According to Your Zodiac

Capricorn (December 22 to January 19)

Capricorn, your realist demeanor is one of your best traits. You know what you’re capable of and you have the work ethic to get it done. However, when interacting with others, your perceptive nature can come across as being pessimistic (even though that is not your intention). When working with others, be mindful of your tone and message. One of your strongest assets is that you like to plan and get things done, so utilize those skills when creating plans with your loved ones!

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18)

Your desire for independence can make others feel detached from you, Aquarius. While it is important for you to have time to recharge, make sure that you reach out to your loved ones when you are able. Your fun-loving, creative, and easy-going nature makes you the life of the party. Use those traits to bring people together! When building relationships feel free to use your innovative mind to think of out-of-the box activities to keep your connections fun and exciting, too!

Pisces (February 19 to March 20)

Pisces, your empathy towards the people around you is a great asset! When meeting new people or catching up with old friends, use your empathy to get a better perspective on what emotional needs they have. On the other side, make sure that your emotional needs are met, as well. Seek meaningful relationships and use your imagination to create adventures to keep your strongest connections sparked alive.

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

Confidence and determination are perfect traits to describe you, Aries. Your cool demeanor and energetic attitude make you a fun and supportive person to know. Use your confidence to build others up! When starting relationships, be mindful that your confidence does not come across as moody or aggressive. Use your passion to get others as excited as you are and bring them along for the ride. You are enthusiastic about life and that’s contagious!

Taurus (April 20 to May 20)

As a Taurus, you are very patient and understanding. You are a gentle spirit that can easily create deep connections through listening and observing. Use your unique perspective to make people feel comfortable in new surroundings. In relationships, you make people feel heard and understood. That being said, your ability to pick up on things can make you appear a little stubborn. Remember to use your listening skills to hear all sides (not just your own)!

Gemini (May 21 to June 20)

Gemini, you have an expansive view of the world and you always love to learn more! When building relationships, get to know people with a wide-variety of backgrounds and careers. Use your intelligence to have deep conversations with others- but be mindful of the witty banter!  In addition, your adaptability and indecisiveness can be seen as unreliable. Gemini, be sure to use a schedule and stick to plans, to not be perceived as “flaky.”

Cancer (June 21 to July 22)

You are fiercely loyal and charming, Cancer. Relationships are very important to you and you tend to keep people in your life for a long time. You are also very in touch with your emotions and feelings and, as such, people like to come to you for advice. Use your emotional intelligence to make others feel loved. Though, be careful that your nostalgic and sentimental side does not come across as moody. Recognize your feelings and be upfront with your friends and family so that they know your sincerely interested.

Leo (July 23 to August 22)

Your natural ability to lead others is a great asset when building relationships, Leo! You are a passionate individual who loves to be the center of attention. Use your bubbly personality and sense of humor to build relationships- and lots of them! You like to see and be seen, so get out there and meet lots of people! In order to create meaningful relationships, you may need to speak up if you are feeling ignored or excluded.

Virgo (August 23 to September 22)

Hard working, helpful, and intelligent – what can’t you do, Virgo? In relationships, you tend to give a lot more than you take. To create deep connections with your friends and family, be sure to express your feelings through action. Help out when you can, but be sure to set aside time for yourself as well. You love to feel valued by others, so make sure to express that to friends and family.

Libra (September 23 to October 22)

Libra, your natural sense of balance, peace, and harmony makes you an amazing person to know. Leverage those skills to create meaningful relationships. It is very important that you find inner peace through connection. You enjoy having deep and intellectual conversations with others. However, your need for peace can make confrontation hard, Libra. Make sure to speak up for yourself and use your harmony to ease arguments and tension. Honesty is always the best policy.

Scorpio (October 23 to November 21)

As a Scorpio, you are focused, loyal, and devoted. However, those traits can come across as dominating and bossy. When building relationships be sure to take time to listen and make the other person feel heard. You will create the deep connections that you desire when you get to know people in a new way. You value trust, honesty, and respect, so be sure to communicate those needs to the people around you.

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21)

You are generous, Sagittarius, and you can use that skill to build strong relationships. You are curious and love to get outside of your comfort zone. Make crazy plans with others and stick to them! People will love your out-of-the-box thinking. Your love of learning can make it seem like you always have the right answer, so be sure to let others speak and really listen. Use your unique perspective to build new relationships regularly, but remember who your true friends are and keep them close.

We can all live in harmony!

By being more aware of how we each communicate and listen, we can create more meaningful relationships with the people in our lives. I don’t believe that astrology is the only answer, it’s simply an additional tool to provide deeper understanding of our friends, family members, co-workers, bosses, partners, and more.

Consider your likes and dislikes when it comes to communication and relationships, how can you use astrology to improve your connections with others?

I also recently received a wonderful book called The Astrology of You and Me by Gary Goldschneider. Goldschneider has studied astrology for 40 years and has written best-selling books on the subject, which has led him to The Astrology of You and Me. It’s a guide to living in harmony with the people that are of similar and different zodiac signs around you. I used his book as inspiration for this post, combined with quite a bit of my regular research on the subject. I’d highly recommend Goldschneider’s book, though, if you’d like to dive into this subject deeper than I have above!

Create a great life!
