Last week was crazy at my 9-to-5. A large amount of reports to complete and huge responsibilities continue to stare me in the face moving into the next few days. Because of that, the blogging world and Junior League friends have been my breadths of fresh air. Spending time in communities that support and encourage one another has been incredibly uplifting at this point in the year. I’m absolutely not complaining – I am incredibly grateful for the blessings I’ve been given – but I already can’t wait for the upcoming weekend of rest and relaxation. And I’m, of course, hopeful for a Broncos victory on Sunday. 🙂
However, if you’re enjoying time exploring the internet like I am, then here are five of my favorite links to check out. Hope you enjoy!
In this series, I highlight some of my favorite finds from across the week. Whether they’re informational links, awesome new products, or fun pictures, I hope you enjoy! If you’re interested in seeing other Top Five posts, check out past posts here.
Popsugar is hilarious, coming right out and saying that these tips come from a 55-year-old woman, even though her written thoughts randomly went viral claiming she was 99. But neither here nor there. Her tips are fantastic and well worth the quick read. In case you were curious:
My favorites: Either “Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living or get busy dying.” or “A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.”
Ray’s favorite: “Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift.”

While this post was from a while back, I continue to love the sentiment. It’s essentially about finding a guy that deserves you, but also includes a cute, little PDF originally written by the writers of, “He’s Just Not That Into You.” While I honestly believe that the PDF is very one-sided, I feel that it includes important elements for us, as females, to consider going into a relationship.
My personal favorite tip probably won’t surprise many of you if you’ve been reading awhile. “A man with whom my relationship would bring me closer to my aspirations for the future.” That sentiment conveys what is potentially my favorite thing about Ray.
As I aspire for Semi-Sweet Tooth that brings pure positivity to the world, I was immediately attracted to this article, originally from apartmenttherapy.com, about simple tricks to make you happier in your home. Although, in reading them, I feel as though they are general tips to increase happiness overall, beyond interior design.
One tip that I’m going to intentionally focus on bringing into my day originally comes from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. “Every day, think as you wake up: today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it.” I cannot imagine having a more inspirational thought a I wake up each morning to start the day!
I can’t be the only clumsy one that drops almost everything in my possession. If not immediately, my makeup will sooner or later be impacted and will look similar to the picture above. That’s why I was so excited when I spotted this blog post on an incredibly simple way to fix broken compacts. I haven’t been able to test out these instructions yet, but it’s definitely worth it to give these steps a shot!
With February started today, I’m setting my sights on my birthday later this month. I’m not turning 30, and planning our wedding is definitely my priority right, but this article provides some great ideas for those milestone birthdays in our adult lives. The article claims these are for those “decade” birthdays, but I see no reason why we can’t throw a casino themed party just because it’s Monday.
