New Product Trial: amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo

I’m often skeptical of dry shampoos.  They either do nothing, dye my hair a white-ish color, or the scent is so strong that it’s obvious you’re using some form of product.  However, when I got home from a hike Saturday and only had time for a speedy shower before heading out for the Blackhawks game, dry shampoo was the way to go.  And, I have to stay, I was incredibly impressed!

amika’s dry shampoo masked my roots and gave my hair more body, rather than weighing it down with product.  While super scent all-star Ray noticed the “Sea Buckthorn Berry” scent the second I started using this dry shampoo, it quickly blended in as a more soft, natural aroma.  Plus, while I was originally planning to wear my hair up, the body that it gave my hair convinced me to go out and about with my hair down for the evening!

Check out my below “after” pictures (sorry about not taking a “before”… you’ll just have to trust be that there’s a major difference. 🙂 ) :

I’m going to have to investigate this. I’ve always been hesitant towards dry shampoo just because I have super thin hair and sometimes it gets rather greasy. But I might just have to try this out!

Totally get you there. I have really thin strands, but a lot of them. Some dry shampoos really weigh down my hair but, at least for me, this one did the complete opposite! I also use “Big Sexy Hair” dry powder product everyday. It’s really meant to build more body than mask grease, but might be worth checking out, too!
