I am INCREDIBLY honored to have been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by the always wonder Jamie over at Whisked Away. If you haven’t checked out her unreal recipes and life in New Zealand, then WHAT ARE YOU DOING… check out her blog, stat!
The Versatile Blogger Award is for those blogs that bring something special to your life. In picking your nominees, you are to consider the quality of the writing, the uniqueness of the subjects covered, the level of love displayed in the words on the virtual page. Or, of course, the quality of the photographs and the level of love displayed in the taking of them – I’m assuming I fit in the second part of that statement.
“Rules” are as follows (& are meant to be broken?): Answer the questions you have been given, nominate 10 other bloggers and give them their own set of questions to answer. Now let’s get to it!
1) What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I ice-skated on Team USA into high school and danced on the dance team through college. I say this because what’s more surprising is that I have literally NO hand/eye coordination. Don’t ask me to join your softball team, soccer is basically me running back and forth on a grassy knoll, and NEVER ask me to play on your kickball team. Unless you need a sideline cheerleader, ‘cuz then I’m your gal!
2) What is a memory you have from third grade?
I remember having the first teacher that I loved and that taught me to love learning. Mrs. Kipp moved up to teach 4th grade, so I was able to have her as my teacher a second year. I’ll be forever thankful to her for helping me gain a thirst for learning!
3) Do you play any musical instruments, if so, what?
Negative ghostrider. I sang in the choir in college, but I still think that they let me in out of pity!
4) Have you had your 15 minutes of fame?
I don’t think so. But I always remind myself that, “you’re famous to someone.” It’s important to remember that we are all somebody’s idol. How can you lead by positive example?
5) Have you ever met someone famous?
Yes! Living in Chicago, it actually happened fairly frequently! But now I’m surrounded by several famous athletes (if that’s your bag) that I love being able to call my friends.
6) I feel the most beautiful when I ___________
GREAT QUESTION! There are three times, and I’m lucky enough that I typically get at least one a day.: 1) When I’ve just finished a rockin’ workout and am sweating like a champ. I love knowing that I can work hard and push myself beyond my mental boundaries. 2) When I actually take a full hour to get ready and feel FIERCE. I’m pretty lazy about this one lately, but my ladies know what I mean! 3) In the morning when I can wake up slowly and can enjoy the quite of the morning. Toss on some low key tunes and watch the sunrise with some tea in my hands. I feel the pleasure of life in those quiet mornings.
7) What’s something you hope will never come back in style?
Glitter eye shadow. But on the other hand… it is kinda fun. Maybe high school girls wearing the uber short dresses, which is still somehow in style. If I ever have a daughter, she’s wearing a floor-length muumuu everyday.
8) What song reminds you of your high school years?
Ugh – every Britney Spears song. Plus the song “Simply Irresistible” because my poms squad had an amazing routine to the classic tune. And lastly, every beachy tune you can think of, because it was my first poms routine ever my freshman year of high school. And let it be known that I still love each and every one of these songs.
9) Did you graduate from college, if so, what was your degree?
I did! I’m a proud graduate of Miami University in Ohio where I graduated with a major in Business Marketing and a minor in English Literature (Shakespeare. Swoon.)
10) If you could eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Due to my health blogger status, Imma be real and say Dominos pizza. Make any home-made pizza you want, but nothing is going to beat their hand-tossed crust.
Now onto my nominees (check ‘em out, ‘cuz they ROCK!):
8) Tiffaspilla
Here’s where Imma break the rules. I liked Jamie’s questions, so please answer the same questions and pass this fantastic award forward. 🙂
Create a great life!
