I’m often so focused on being healthy, that I forget about the truly luscious pleasures in life. Like having a cold ice cream on a hot, Summer day. Or enjoying a classic twice baked mashed potato. Or even a glass of champagne after a hard day at the office! (Ok, we all know I haven’t forgotten about that one. But you get the picture.)
But this week, Ray and I decided to celebrate Tuesday (because it’s Tuesday, why not) with a big, juicy steak. Steak is incredibly easy to make, so if you’re ever in the mood to surprise your guests, your significant other, or maybe even yourself, then here it goes.
Ingredients (Serves 2)
2 Medium Steaks
Salt & Pepper
Olive Oil
Butter or Margarine
A Grill
Directions
1) Salt & pepper the steaks generously to taste
2) Allow the grill to heat to medium-high, oil the grill slightly to prevent sticking
3) Once the grill is heated up fully, cook the steak for 8 minutes on each side
4) Allow the steak to cool off the grill with a bit of butter on top to taste (optional… or you could always put on a lot of butter ala Ray’s steak pictured above)
5) Enjoy!
We decided to enjoy some corn on the cob on the side, which we buttered with my Three Ingredient Red Pepper Butter before putting on the grill in the cob. No, I wouldn’t call this healthy, but it was such a pleasure to be able to relax and enjoy. Not recommended for everyday consumption, but definitely worth the few extra cals.
