“Life in My Eyes” is a series that highlights my favorite things across entertainment, beauty products, and everything in between. Enjoy and please let me know anything that you’d recommend I check out in the comments section below! And now to February 2017 …

Sukishufu Athletic Wear
If athletic apparel that both looks fashion forward and performs no matter how hard you push during your workouts is your thing, then you’ve hit the jackpot with Sukishufu. While I love the high style pieces that I’ve been wearing everywhere lately, I think that my favorite element is how opaque (and NOT see-through) their pieces actually are! Don’t lie, I’m not the only one that’s worn a pair of leggings, only to find out that they’re see through in a slightly different light. Not the case with any of the Sukishufu pieces I’ve worn! The two leatherback pieces that I’ve been wearing are both not see through at all (I tested multiple angles), supportive, and fit like a glove. Count me among their newest fans! (I’ve been wearing the Leatherback Nori Black & White and the Leatherback 3/4 Leggings in Silver Gloss, both in the image above.)
ZXZY Heart Patchwork Sweater
I’m literally obsessed with this patchwork, cozy sweater. Add into the equation that it costs under $22 and I’m completely sold! I’ll be sharing more info on Monday about the perfect Valentine’s Day celebration gifts that I’ve found, but be rest assured that I’ll be wearing my heart on my sleeve like the girl in this photo next week. (Though I’ll likely be wearing jeans. Those short shorts are a no-go for this almost 30 year old!)
Jar of Happiness
Back in 2013, I created a gratitude jar. Every time I was extremely happy, I’d write it down, along with the reason. Finally, at the end of the year, I read all of the reasons 2013 was amazing. While I haven’t kept up the practice, I still have that same jar sitting on my sink countertop in our master bathroom to read any time I’m feeling down. It includes such fond memories such as the first time I hosted Bible study in my own home, the day I knew I had fallen in love with Ray, and the horse I had bet on winning the Kentucky Derby.
Though the author of this article took this concept one step further by actually using her Jar of Happiness to find out what brings joy to her life. With all of these ideas in mind, she’ll be able to bring more of those consistencies into her life to surround herself with those things that bring her pure joy. Genius!
HICKIES No Tie Shoelaces
A friend of mine from New York shared HICKIES with me a few months ago, but it’s gotten to the point where I can’t live without them! They’re essentially one size fits all shoelaces that you toss on your shoes and you never have to tie or untie them ever again! They’re super cozy, incredibly durable, and look great with almost any shoe. I can guarantee that these will be on every pair of running shoes I own going forward. (I’m a super fan for the original grey.)
Where the AOL Guy is Now
This is by far the most random story of the month, but I hope it puts a smile on your face, just as it did on mine earlier this month. The AOL “you’re got mail” guy is now an Uber drive in Ohio. This article tells the story of how he got the gig, what he’s up to now, and there’s a video of him saying his famous sentence to confirm that none of this is fake. Now that’s a random run-in that would make anyone smile.
