WORKOUT
Ray and I mom-walked today. You know what I mean… that walk where your booty pops back and forth like you’re trying to get attention at high school dance.
Truth be told, my mom-walk is Ray’s regular stride. So he strolled while I did my fitness mom-walk. #fitcouple
DINNER
The main meal that I’d like to highlight today is the dinner I had at The Gage on Michigan Avenue. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend it! Ray and I stopped while walking back to our place from the Bears game when needing a quick, health-oriented bite after a long wedding-night yesterday. It did not disappoint! I had scallops, which was actually an appetizer, and a side of grilled carrots. What made the meal especially tasty was that the carrots were combined with chimichurri to give them an extra special kick. Yum! Something I’ll definitely be incorporating into my own meals in the future.
QUICK CATCH UP
This weekend was an incredible busy one, which is my explanation for the lack of posts. Eek!
Friday included dinner with some girlfriends at Perennial in Lincoln Park. A new spot for me, but they had been there prior, which was a perfect opportunity to take their tips on best meals. The food was divine, accompanied by even better company!
Saturday started with a trip to Green City Farmers Market to re-stock for the week. We grabbed seasonal favorites such as corn and peaches, along with organic, smoked pork chops and fresh flowers to brighten up our place!
We then headed out to the ‘burbs for a wedding for a good friend from high school. The wedding was stunning and, again, the company was even better. The fact that the DJ played “P.Y.T.” made the entire evening as close to perfect as possible!
Today, we woke up and headed out early to the Bears game. While the Bears lost, the dinner mentioned earlier at The Gage definitely made up for the sense of loss we were feeling. #BearDown
SUNDAY CONFESSION: I have no idea what I’m doing with this blogging thing.
I’ve decided to make Sundays a time where I come clean. Where have a slipped across the week? Where am I planning to prioritize my personal improvement in the near future? All bets are off and this could go anywhere. Consider yourself warned!
This week, I’d like to discuss that, while I’m figuring out this blogging thing, I still have absolutely no idea what I’m doing. I’ve loved using this as a creative outlet to discuss the topics that I’m most interested in. That, plus it being a great way to stay in contact with friends and family near and far (thanks for the comments, mom!), and I have 0 complaints!
However, I know that my site, blogging technique and overall focus on the topic could absolutely be improved. I’m looking forward to continuing to better myself and my site, as well as getting more involved in the community!
QUESTION
What tips do you have for this new blogger? After seeing a few posts, what recommendations do you have to make this blog even better than it was this past week?
