Abstainers Versus Moderators
Some of you may have spotted the new pop up that we have going on Semi-Sweet Tooth. While I’ll be changing it out soon, it’s covering a hot topic of conversation here on SST, and I wanted to make sure that you guys all had a chance to take a look.
This pop-up is offering a freebie that is a quiz to determine if you are naturally an abstainer or moderator.
At a high level, these are two different decision making processes and we naturally gravitate towards one or the other. What happens when we fully understand our decision making style is that we’re able to put ourselves in situations that lead us to living a healthy and happy lifestyle.
On the surveys that I received, one topic that consistently came up with several of you, is that you feel like you’re often put into situations where peer pressure or the behavior of others around you impacts your path to success. I say this because I want you to know that you are not alone. We all have times where we feel like we’re “caving” or are not proud of our decisions. But what matters is that we get up the next day ready to work hard to be the best we can be.
One of the pieces of knowledge that has changed my life and helped me out in these situations has been what is included in this freebie. There’s no reason that we should wholly dependant on the outside world for us to stick with our diet or workout plans. You can and do control your life situations. And this guide that I created will help to get you there.

Homemade Ranch Chicken Tenders
Prep Time: 10 minutes; Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Yields: 6 tenders
Ingredients
-
6 chicken tenders (about 1 lb)
-
1/2 cup garlic bread crumbs
-
1/4 cup original Ranch dressing
-
1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
-
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
-
Marinate the chicken in the Ranch dressing with a dash of salt and pepper. Now would also be a good time to pre-heat the oven for 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with tin foil
-
In a separate bowl, combine the bread crumbs and parmesan cheese.
-
Dip the marinated chicken into the bread crumb/parmesan mixture and coat the chicken liberally. Place the chicken tenders on the baking sheet so that they are not touching.
-
Bake the tenders for 15 minutes on the top shelf, or until they are golden brown along the outsides and are fully cooked through. Enjoy! We used a wee bit of Ranch as dipping sauce, as well.
