Weekend in Review: South Beach College Reunion

This weekend was definitely one for the record books.  Six girls that I lived with in college and I all descended on South Beach for an amazing reunion that can hardly be described in words!  We have not all been able to get together in the past six years, so having seven girls from all over the nation come together was an amazing feat in itself.  But when it felt like a day hadn’t gone by that we hadn’t lived together, I couldn’t have imagined this week to be any better if we had scripted the entire thing.

Friday, all of the girls started to arrive.  We, of course, had matching tank tops made to celebrate our reunion at the beach.  During a quick walk on the beach, it was amazing how warm the water was and how quickly we absorbed into the sand!  Exfoliating the natural way. 🙂  Across the evening we had a fantastic taco night in the condo so that we could catch up over several glasses of wine.  We then headed out to a casual place a bit outside of downtown called The Broken Shaker.  I highly recommend this spot for some low key, kinda-hipster fun!

Saturday, after all of our catching up, was purely a beach day.  We enjoyed the sun and the bath tub-warm water prior to some quick rains making a show.  After lunch, the other girls headed out to a street art museum while I took a nap and fit in a work out.  (Staying strong on my 100 days of working out, even while on vacation!)  That evening, the girls surprised me with an adorable Kate Spade ring holder as a surprise from our engagement the previous week.  (SO nice of them!!  It will be included in a post later this week!)  For dinner that night, we headed downtown to a fabulous restaurant called Zuma where we gabbed, ate amazing food, and enjoyed their unique drinks until 1AM!  That’s how you know you enjoy someone’s company. 🙂  We then headed to a spot downtown called LIV where we danced the night away!

Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic, whirlwind of a weekend and I can’t wait to see everyone again.  A HUGE thank you to all the girls for the pictures above… we shared a photo drive across our phones and they were much better at taking pictures than I was across the weekend!

We realized that the next time we’ll likely all be together will be for my wedding events.  Guess I better get to planning!!
