The Real Neat Blog Award

I’m in love with our blogging community.  We’re so supportive of one another and help build each other up.  Sorry, mean girls, but this ain’t no place for you!  And, in a show of epic support, the beautiful Natale over at The Grapefruit Dairies nominated me for “The Real Neat Blog” award.  This award is a blast, because it really allows you to get to know the blogger on a deeper level.  A huge THANK YOU to Natale for getting me involved!

Here goes nothin’!

1.)  If you weren’t happy with yesterday, what would you do to change it?

There’s a couple of ways I’d tackle this one.  First, I’d focus on gratitude to try to change my perception of my situation.  However, I also have a 3 month limitation that I made for myself long ago.  If I’m feeling unhappy or frustrated about my situation, I have no more than 3 months to change my situation.

2.)  What is your favorite book?

This is a tough one, because I was an English Lit minor addicted to Shakespeare.  However, the real book that led me to a love of reading was To Kill A Mockingbird.

3.)  What has been your biggest success and your biggest challenge?

Woo-sah, Natale… deep!

Biggest success: Becoming comfortable with who I am.  Almost every female knows how tough it can be to grow up, and it took a long time for me to get where I am.  But now I can proudly say that I am proud of the person I’ve become and know that I have the ability, skill set, and persistence that it takes to achieve any goals I set my mind to!  (Look out, blogging world!)

Biggest Challenge: It consistently is trusting my inner voice, rather than purely listening to the voices of others.

4.)  What does your perfect day look like? (April 25th is void… 😉

I feel like I have a lot of these – the voice of an eternal optimist.  I’d have to say the day Raymond and I got engaged is definitely up there.  However, if we’re talking in general terms, I’d say wake up after a great 9 hours of sleep, have a kick a$$ workout, and enjoy a great picnic in the park on a sunny day with my favorites.  I’m smiling just thinking about it. 🙂

5.)  What is your favorite memory?

I have a lot of these as well, but let’s go old school with this one.  It would be ice skating in France as part of Team USA.  This experience was life changing – it was my first time traveling across the ocean and it showed me that there are people and places that I can relate to across the globe.  Wanderlust commence!

6.)  What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

Depending on who you are, I’m either completely crazy… or not at all.  My kind of crazy is typically focused on new experiences.  Going sky diving with my mom (made her jump out of the plane first, #supportive), last minute bungee jumping in Interlaken, or planning a trip to Italy with a girlfriend two weeks prior to leaving.  All of these experiences turned out fabulously and I can’t wait for more random experiences to continue!

7.)  If your life were a movie title, what would it be?

It’s a Wonderful Life… that hasn’t been taken has it?

8.)  If you could do anything you wanted right now, what would it be?

Enjoying that perfect day I mentioned above and pursuing freelance writing.  Let me know if you guys have any tips on this one!

And now to nominate some of my favorites in the blogosphere.  Truthfully, I loved the question Natale created, so le’s stick with those.  I can’t wait to check out your answers!
