Road Trip Day Two: A wee bit of indulgence

WORKOUT

Rest Day, unless you count our meandering the streets of Cincinnati.  Remember that it’s always important to take at least one rest day a week to allow your muscles to heal.  This is the time when they grow the most!

NOW BACK TO THE ROAD TRIP…

Sundays have become a bit of a tradition for us.  We regularly go to church, then brunch, then somewhere to watch the Liverpool game.  (You’re not randomly a British Premier League Soccer fan!?  You should pick it up.)  Even though we’re on the road, this week was only slightly different.  I watched the Liverpool game while drinking my green tea (they won, obviously), then headed out to brunch with some great friends.

Whenever I take a rest day or vacation, I take every second I can to live in the moment.  Yes, I sometimes feel guilty about not eating as healthy as possible and not taking time for a hard core workout.  But I’ve realized that these amazing times come and go pretty quickly.  It’s important to take life as it comes to you and just do the best you can with the time you’re given.

Along with that, obviously come the indulgences.  An example being Greater’s Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip ice cream.

I got the Kids size, okay?!

When there’s only one place in the world that I crave Greater’s ice cream (I otherwise crave cake or Ben & Jerry’s), I’m likely to get it.

What indulgences do you enjoy?  Remember to sit back and relax every once in a while!  As the great Van Wilder once said, “Don’t take life too seriously, you’ll never get out alive.”
