Nojito (Non-Alcoholic Mojito) & Survey Time!

Nojito tastes just as good as a Mojito, but without the additional calories and alcoholic content.  Deliciously refreshing and perfect for this early Fall heat we’re enjoying all over America.

The How-Not-to-Be Lazy Guide

For those of you guys watching my SnapChats, you guys know that I’ve been in full recovery mode for the majority of this week.  It seems that one weekend of fun at my friend’s Bachelorette party was enough to put me on my booty for the rest of the week.  Lost voice and all… but somebody had to yell along with every band under the Nashville sun!  We were just the gals for the job.

More details on this AMAZING Bachelorette party can be found in today’s newsletter.

But here’s what… a long time ago I realized that I’m abstainer when it comes to working out.  If I get it on the calendar, then I’m going to do it.

In case you’re an abstainer like me, then I encourage you to get it on the calendar and STAY COMMITTED.  If you commit to getting to the gym or doing your workout, then it WILL happen.  You’ll feel healthier faster, you’ll recover at a more rapid pace, and you’ll be able to achieve more than you know.

Keep pushing.

New Newsletter

I’ve been exploring how to use our newsletter in the recent past.  I want it to convey what the blog is about – creating a great life and aspiring to live out our best life – but I also didn’t want to be repeating too much content from other forms of social media.

With this in mind, we have a brand new newsletter format that some of you spotted this morning.  This will highlight more personal information about what I’m up to in life, as well as exploring some of the meaningful content that I share on the blog on a bit deeper level.  For example, today I spoke on my internal feelings on needing permission to shine.

New freebies are about to be released on the blog and newsletter, too.  Be sure to subscribe if you want more!

And now to our recipe…

Nojito

For the past few months, I’ve been on a huge nonalcoholic beverage kick.  Now I’m not going all teetotaler quite yet, but I am making a conscious effort to limit my alcohol intake.

Thus why beverages such as Sparkling Blueberry Lemonade came into play.  But when I wanted to make this same recipe again recently, I discovered that I, instead, have a ton of extra mint in the house which had no intended use.

With the ingredients I had available in the house, I decided to create a Nojito, which is essentially a Mojito sans alcohol.  Equally as delicious, but much healthier.  Now that’s a happy hour I can get behind!

Nojito (Non-Alcoholic Mojito)

Total Time: 5 Minutes

Yields: 1 adult serving

Ingredients

  • Leaves from three sprigs of mint
  • 1 lime (or 3 tablespoons of lime juice)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 6 oz sparkling water

Directions

  1. Muddle the mint leaves, lime juice, sugar, and a handful of crushed ice in the bottom of your cocktail glass or in a cocktail shaker.  I muddled using a large, sturdy spoon because I do not own a muddler.
  2. On top of the mix in a cocktail glass, pour the sparkling water.  Stir and garnish as desired.  Enjoy!
