Little White Dress

It’s no surprise that I don’t shy away from wearing white before Memorial Day.  (See here and here as two recent examples.)  But now that it’s crossed the unofficial Summer threshold, I’m fully supportive of wearing head to toe white, including, but not limited to, this adorable Little White Dress.

I’ve written before about how I believe in creating an almost sense of balance with our style.  If you’re showing more of your décolletage, stay covered on your lower half; if you’re wearing tighter leggings, then consider covering up on the top.  This look was a perfect example of what I was discussing in that post.

This is a shorter dress with a more exposed back (seen in the link below.)  To balance it out, I wore a camisole underneath the dress to keep the accent piece unique and noticeable, but I was still covered up.  While this dress would look perfect left loose with casual flip flops, I opted for knee-high boots, and belted the dress to provide a little more structure.  With all of these elements working together, I was covered up and comfortable, but still created interest due to the slightly shorter length of the dress (almost everything I own is knee-length) and the cool laser-cut in the back.

Matched with simple earrings and all brown accents, I can’t wait to wear this out for a casual night with the girls or date night.  With no need to add on many additional accent pieces, this is easy to toss on for the girl on the go, but still fun enough to get all the compliments your heart desires.

I’ve linked below to the actual dress (Free People – for whatever reason, the picture is a pinkish color, but it comes in white and navy, as well), as well as to similar pieces to my accessories, as all are old.
