Friday Favorites #16 & a Blog Shift

Before we dive into this week’s Friday Favorites, let’s take a quick second to talk about a strategic blog shift I’m going to be making on SST.  What it is and the reasons behind it are as follows.

Background of Semi-Sweet Tooth

Ultimately, the goal of SST has always been the same.  Build confidence and self empowerment among others to show that a healthy lifestyle is a balanced lifestyle.  While my tactics to show this have changed slightly across the years, my mission always has and, for the foreseeable future, will remain the same.

What Changes are Coming to SST

I will now move to posting three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday.  This combination may change at some point, but this is the plan at the moment.  While I will continue to focus on the personal stuff (friendly advice, fashion & beauty must-haves, etc), I will throw a larger focus towards easy recipes that allow us to take time to live and enjoy the simple pleasures.  The personal stuff and our strong community connection is what makes SST unique, so that will, at no point, be going away.  But you will see more recipes going forward.

Why?

Because, after many years of leading this ship, I need to be honest and truly listen to what you guys are telling me.  And that is that you want quality evergreen content and that you’re finding benefit from our super EASY recipes because they allow you more time throughout your day.  I’ll still include my usual SST flare in each post, but Instagram will be where most of my personal content continues to live.  Three posts a week means that I’ll be able to consistently deliver quality content, as well as having time to work on some projects that I’ve been thinking about for a while. Waiting for the perfect time is just a form of procrastination.  Now is the perfect time.

But what are your thoughts?

One of the things I’ve loved about blogging is that it’s continued to move and change with me over the years.  And I feel beyond blessed that so many of you have watched and helped me evolve.  I want to make sure that this continues to be a space where you find benefit.  With that in mind, what are your thoughts on this change?  Is it going in the right direction, or is it oh so wrong?  Please comment below or feel free to send me an email.  I always love to hear your thoughts!

But now, let’s get to this week’s…

Friday Favorites

RealHer Lipsticks – To start off, RealHer’s mission is to “empower and bring out the best in the modern woman: to know her worth, to feel proud of her individuality, to love each and every one of her flows, and to not fear who she really is.”  With that kind of mission and with lipstick color names such a “Love Yourself,” “I am Powerful,” & “I Define Beauty Myself,” I was already obsessed.  But when I found out how moisturizing their lipsticks are and how well they stay in place, I was hooked.  My favorite color is “Be Yourself, Be RealHer,” but I’m wearing “Women Rule the World” in the featured image of this post.

Hamptons Pool Party Wedding – This past weekend, Ray and I made a quick trip over to New York to watch our dear friends Nick and Scott get married.  While it was a quick trip, not even stopping in NYC except to land and takeoff at Laguardia, it was a trip that was filled with so much love and fun.  They wanted a relaxed wedding, complete with kids and their pet dog.  Their ~5 minute ceremony was sentimental, but we all jumped immediately into the pool after their first kiss.  It was the most unique, fun, and personal celebrations of love I’ve ever been a part of and I’m so happy that I could be there for every moment of that wonderful day.  (We love you Scott and Nick!!)

High Waisted Workout Leggings – As some of you guys have noticed on Instagram, I’ve been wearing one specific pair of leggings almost religiously for the past few months (see here & here.)  This pair, specifically, is Lululemon’s Wunder Under Crop (Hi-Rise) and I ADORE the high waist.  They’re super cozy and I never have to worry about pulling them up constantly.in the middle of a workout class.  I’ve linked to a few similar pairs below, as well (all below $100.)
