Visit with Kerri & Reuniting with Cincinnati

Three years ago to the day, I moved out of Cincinnati to Chicago, where I would live for the next few years.  Cincinnati was the first place I moved to out of college – needless to say, I sometimes acted like it, too.  (I’d like to thank the bartenders at Monks, as I’m certain I still have a tab open from when I was 23.)  This “anniversary” celebration could not have come at a more perfect time, as my old friend from Cincinnati, Kerri, just happened to be in town for work!

Kerri and I actually met back when we were both trying out for Ben-Gals, the Cincinnati Bengals Cheerleaders.  I made it to the final cut, but didn’t move on from there, while Kerri actually made the squad!  She stayed on the team for one year prior to moving up to Milwaukee for a new job, where she also got to cheer on the Bucks as a part of their cheerleading squad.  Without a doubt, she’s one of the most talented dancers I know!

EICHENPAS - Kerri1_newI wanted Kerri to see a new area of the city that she hadn’t visited prior, so I took her to a few spots in Larimer Square – an adorable block in the city with lights and Colorado flags hanging above the street.  As you can see from the picture above, it’s as picturesque as it sounds.  We started at a great flat bread spot called Osterio Marco, prior to heading across the street for a final craft cocktail at a place known as Green Russell.

Since we had last seen each other, we had both moved to new states, and Kerri bought a new home and is now engaged!  So much to talk about – gabbing on for hours seemingly lasted minutes.  Without a doubt, it was absolutely a highlight of my week.  I mean, who doesn’t love catching up with fantastic friends while drinking fabulous craft cocktails?
