Taking the Shine “Initiation”

Recently, I found a local boutique called “Shine” that has a heart centered on self-love – this dress and the jewelry in their cover image are from their storefront on South Pearl.  Their staff is incredible and kind, and their carefully curated collections are impeccable, but one of the things I love most about them is their commitment to teaching women everywhere about self-love and self-acceptance.  In fact, no matter where you’re located, you can sign up to be initiated into their group of SPARKS where you’ll get regular reminders to live in self-love and ignite the light in others.

I’ll be taking the initiation and signing up to unite in love.  And, better yet, it’s FREEEEE!!

Jewelry with Heart

I am all about jewelry that either has some form of meaning or reminder of positive affirmations.  And I think that this bracelet fits either meaning beautifully.  It’s incredibly classic, costs less than $15, and includes the words, “Love, Joy, Peace, Kindness, Faithfulness, Patience, Goodness, Gentleness, Self Control” around the bracelet in a type of twist formation.  A simple, beautiful reminder of to love ourselves and the world around us.

Dr Teals Pure Epsom Salts

I mentioned some time ago that I’m slowly getting used to using baths to relax in the evenings.  While it’s still not my everyday strategy, I already do love using these Epsom Salts to detoxify my system and soothe my body from any soreness it might be feeling from my workouts over the week.  Nothing sounds like it could be a better Valentine’s Day celebration!  Just toss 2 cups of these epsom salts in lukewarm bath water, soak for 20 minutes, and I guarantee you’ll feel like a new person.

HappyLight Portable Full Spectrum Light

When I wrote this post, I had NO idea how much of a response I’d be getting from others of you who are impacted by light and the weather!  Obviously, I’m not going to pick up and move to consistently warmer weather – even though we moved to Colorado purely for the sunshine.  But I’m thinking that a perfect alternative for these days when it gets dark so early is buying a natural spectrum light to both improve my mood and reset my circadian rhythm (aka, sleep better at night and feel more awake during the day.)  Plus, this little light is under $40, super compact, and only weighs 1.5 pounds.  Perfect for travel or home!

Time to Invest in Yourself

In the current beta test of Positively Confident, we’ve spoken at length about feeling like we need permission to take time for ourselves.  Across society today, it sometimes feels as if it’s selfish to take our limited resources purely to better our lives.  So, if that’s the case for you, then consider this your permission to take a few hours to solely invest in yourself.  Enjoy that bath, dance to the music, watch your favorite movie, journal.  Do whatever helps you to feel more alive and in the moment.  You are a beautiful being, and you deserve to feel that way every day of your life.  (If you’re interested in learning more about Positively Confident, click here and toss in your name and email address.  The next round will be starting in March, but I’ll be offering some info sessions in advance so that you’ll be completely in the know.)
