TBT: My Sorority Family Rocks My Socks

I can’t lie, Facebook’s “On This Day” is making my world right about now.  If you don’t know what it is, then download the Facebook app or go online and find your menu.  From there, scroll down to “On This Day” and check out what happened on this specific day across the years you’ve been a member on Facebook.  I haven’t been incredibly active on FB lately, but this is definitely one reason I keep my personal account active.

Eight years ago, it was Sophomore year when my sorority “twin” posted these on Facebook from a Big/Little Revelation.  This is the night that we “reveal” to our littles that we’re their big.  This is following a week of surprises including huge baskets of fun gifts and, obviously, random bros singing to them.  It was an absolute blast and, I think you can tell from my pictures, my family was one of the primary reasons that I still love Miami as much as I do.

In case you’re wondering, I’m still a proud member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and love supporting in any way that I can.  I helped to launch a chapter at University of Cincinnati when I lived in Ohio and helped with many recruitments where they needed alums to help with scoring, along with supporting my national chapter where ever they need me.  Miami’s slogan, “Love & Honor,” definitely extends to Gamma Phi as far as I’m concerned. 🙂
