This month has flown by in a whirlwind of activity – and it’s been crazy fun! We’ve started to get some snow in the mountains, I’m helping to plan some fantastic events for October here in Denver, and it’s Startup Week in Denver, which means panels and speaking events galore from movers and shakers in the industry. Plus, that doesn’t even count some favorite visitors that came my way, as well as attending an INCREDIBLE wedding on the East Coast.

Vail & Breckenridge Oktoberfest
This month, I’ve been fortunate enough to have some incredible visitors come my way, and the amount of fun and laughter we’ve shared has been just an inch shy of crazy.
First, friends came in town from Cincinnati and we decided to make the short treck up to my place in Breckenridge for some hiking and time exploring the town. But it also just so happened to be Breckenridge Oktoberfest weekend! Enter: Steins and time enjoying all of the festive german flair that our tiny town has to offer.
Next up, three friends from Miami came to town specifically for Vail Oktoberfest. After enjoying a casual double decker burger in Denver at one of my old haunts My Brothers Bar and spending the night in Denver, we took the trip up to Vail to enjoy a few steins with good friends.
You can tell that I’ve known these guys for years, too – because even after we figured out that there wasn’t a team costume contest, they still suggested that they wanted to theme out both days. And you KNOW I was in!
The amount of USA gear that was being sent to me in Denver means that my building now believes that I am the most patriotic person in the building… Check out the top and picture just above for two of our planned ensembles.
HUGE shout out to Four Seasons Vail for hosting our group while we were in Vail. If you’re stopping in the mountains, then I HIGHLY recommend a stay at the Four Seasons, or at least their lobby bar The Remedy for a beyond delicious Bloody Mary or Manhattan (< shout out to bartender Jess for the best Manhattans we’ve ever had!!)
SHINE 1st Anniversary Fashion Show
It’s no surprise that I’m OBSESSED with SHINE boutique here in Denver. I love their message of self love, everyone on their staff is absolutely incredible, the clothing and accessories they offer are both stylish and classic, and you immediately feel welcomed and loved the second you walk into their space.
Needless to stay, I cannot highlight enough how much I think it’s worth making the short treck out to this fantastic spot out on South Pearl if you live in Denver.

Camping in Summit County/Wedding in Ithaca, NY
When I first moved to Denver, I cried everyday for a short while. Partially because I’m a crazy crier that starts balling my eyes out at a moment’s notice, but partially because I was also really sad to have left all of my family and friends in Chicago.
But over the past almost three years, Denver has become my home. I considered leaving when shi* was hitting the fan, but I realized that THIS is where I belong right now. And, while I have several reasons I believe that this is the case, these three girls are a big part of my reason to stay.
We’ve all had crazy, life-changing years – some in really great and some in really traumatic ways. But these women have been with me through thick in thin.
Which is why I was especially excited that we somehow still found time on the calendar to do our annual girls’ camping trip, this time with two additional pups in tow! (The featured picture above includes one of those crazy puppies. 😉 )
Then, a few weeks later, I got the opportunity to head to one of their weddings in beautiful Ithaca, New York. (See above for a pic of Sabrina and her new husband Chris making it official!)
From Sabrina wearing her mother’s wedding dress, to all flowers being cut from her new husband Chris’ childhood home’s garden, to a random Panda-costume head making an appearance on the dance floor, to hiking through the gorges with friends (seen above, I’m carrying my friend’s adorable baby Blake), every inch of this wedding weekend was deeply touching and memorable. (Thank you, Sabrina and Chris, for letting me be a part of it!)
Aspen Snowmass’ 50th Birthday Party!
For those of you that recieve my newsletter, you know that I recently took a trip to Aspen. And the truth is that I’ll definitely be taking a few more in the near future thanks to a certain, special birthday party coming our way!
