Feeling Empowered with W by Worth

I feel like there are a lot of brands out there that project a false sense of reality. You’re supposed to be 5’8”, be the size of my pinkie finger, and be in the room just to look pretty. If you’re a guy, then a six pack with a well-groomed five o’clock shadow it is.  Pretty sure we both know that we are all worth more than that! Which is why I was SO excited to hear from a brand that empowers women to be their own bosses, provides styles that fit every personality and figure, and inspires women to have the confidence to be themselves. And that brand is W by Worth.

W by Worth

W by Worth is the brainchild of Caroline Davis, who has built the business with a specific Jill Ker Conway quote always in mind. “A strong group of women peers is the most powerful thing a woman can have.” If you’ve been reading SST for a while, you know that I fully support that statement (see here for one example.)

Beyond harvesting a powerful network of women, W by Worth offers an incredibly unique shopping experience (more on that below), is wholly designed in New York, provides exceptionally styled items of incredible quality, and is consistently giving back through their philanthropic Every Woman Has Worth program. Now those are some qualities that I can support!

The Shopping Experience

One of the main elements that I LOVED about W by Worth, and that makes the brand stand out beyond a traditional trip to the mall, is the unique shopping experience.

Essentially, you reach out to a local Stylist to set up an appointment to shop with her when it makes sense in your schedule. When your appointment rolls around, you pop into the Stylist’s showroom or meet online to have 100% personally dedicated time to shop for what works best for you in your current lifestyle.

It’s just like having a personal stylist without the added pressure to buy.

In our local showroom, I felt comfortable and relaxed. I took my time trying on a variety of different pieces. And, after enjoying a glass of champagne and trying on pretty much the entire store (everything was too cute!), I selected two pieces that perfectly fit my needs. It could not have been more ideal!

The Pieces I Selected

Both of the items I selected from W by Worth are pictured and I can’t wait to wear them everywhere across the Fall and late into the season.

My first pick was the Knotted Mini Diamond Dress in Night Blue. I loved the unique, retro cut, well-built structure, and updated details. It’s hard to beat classic buttons, a cozy fit (with a bit of room for when I enjoy a slice of cake at upcoming weddings), and pockets! I selected a Petite Small and did have this dress altered slightly to make it a little bit less boxy, but I honestly would have been fine just wearing it without any changes.

Second pick was the Suede Drop Shoulder Blouse in Blue Smoke, which I also purchased in a Petite Small. This top is SO soft and comfortable that I couldn’t say no. In looking at it on the hanger, I thought it was going to be boxy. But in trying it on, it hung very nicely and I instantly knew that it would be the perfect addition to my collection. It’s nice enough to dress up for a night on the town (the pictured look), but casual enough to toss on with some jeans for upcoming Bears and Broncos games in the Fall. Plus… more pockets! I did not have this top altered and the sleeves are a little bit long, but not to the point that I feel like it’s worth it to have them adjusted.

Tips for Shopping with W by Worth

· If you’re going to check them out, now is the perfect time! There is a Trunk Show going on September 5th – 19th that is by appointment only. They are debuting their Winter collection, and still have their Fall collection on display. (Both of my pieces are from their Fall collection.)

· Alterations are NOT included in the price of the garment. (I had originally thought they were, which shows how well I listen when I’m shopping, ha!)

· Most of the pieces I tried on fit a bit big and I sized down.

· To get in touch with your local Stylist, check here. But…

· Denver gals, I’ve got you covered! To book an appointment in Denver (Cherry Creek), email, call or text Leigh Wald-McMahon ([email protected], 720-226-1505, or via her unique webpage ) and mention Jessica from Semi-Sweet Tooth sent you.
